Have 5 minutes of Python to share? Sign up for PyCascades lightning talks!
What's a lightning talk you ask? It's a micro talk, ranging from three to five minutes. Curious about topics? Some ideas to start you off: an introduction to a cool library you found, an interesting problem you solved with Python, or maybe just an introduction to your new found Python friends!
Signup will begin at the PyCascades socializer event on Sunday January 21st 6:00pm - 8:00pm at 725 Granville Street on the 4th floor, the space is generously offered by Mobify. There will be bins you can drop your name into. You'll notice we'll have a bin for beginner speakers (never gave a talk before!) and for seasoned speakers. Why two bins? Because we want to hear from speakers of all backgrounds and levels of expertise! All you need to share is your name and lightning talk topic. We'll have bins available at registration for the subsequent days providing availability. We'll use the bins to draw names for the lightning talks each day.
Lightning talks will be held during lunch on each day of the conference, Monday January 22nd and Tuesday January 23rd, from 1:45pm to 2:30pm. We'll have five slots for each day!
