[Action required] Please contact us about your registration information
Hello Andrew,
My name is Thea and I’m a member of the PyCascades Code of Conduct committee. I’m reaching out because it was brought to our attention that your registration contains language that can be offensive to a group of people.
Specifically, the registration had an optional field where you could indicate your race or ethnicity in order to help us determine how well we’re doing with diversity. You answered this question with “Cock Asian”. This sort of language violates several aspects of our code of conduct, including discriminatory jokes or language and posting sexually explicit material.
We’re all humans and we know mistakes happen, so if this was some sort of error please let us know and we can provide you with instructions on how to amend your registration to remove this language. If this was a joke made in poor taste, we would happy with a simple apology and amendment to your registration.
However, if we don’t hear from you with indication that you’ll amend your registration by Wednesday, February 20th, or if we receive any additional reports of a code of conduct violation, we will have to rescind your registration. If that occurs, we will refund the price of your ticket minus our 20% processing fee, which is standard.
Thank you,
Thea Flowers on behalf of the PyCascades Code of Conduct committee.
